ABOUT TIRTHAN VALLEY

Tirthan Valley is located in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. The valley gets its name from tirthan river , which originates at the tirth glacier and join the Beas river in Larji. It also happens to be the gateway to the Great Himalayas National Park.
Tirthan Valley is known for its naturak beauty through its magnificent meadows and orchards and springs in the most picturesque Himanlayan mountain setting apart from its traditional architecture and history. There are also many unexplored places in the valley such as dense forested treks and hidden waterfalls whose raw charm still remains untouched by regular tourism. Being adjacent to a protected area (GHNP) , the Tirthan valley is known for the 200+ species of birds that it shelters. The endangered Western Tragopan is the flagship of the birdlife in the area.
